Yes, you can, on Desso Sports Systems’ 4th generation of artificial turf. Until recently, you couldn’t make a sliding tackle on artificial turf. Desso Sports Systems’ research and development center created a new yarn that copies the structure of the natural grass fiber. This patented yarn (DD Crown Soft) is as soft and skin-friendly as natural grass, which allows sliding tackles.
Of course you can play on an artificial grass pitch during winter. You just have to remove the snow from the surface and the pitch is ready to be played on. Snow or freezing temperatures do not influence the quality of an artificial grass pitch.
The 4th generation of artificial grass pitches guarantees the same ball-surface, ball-player and player-surface behavior as natural grass pitches.
Yes, you can, on all sand-rubber infilled soccer pitches. On the other pitches, Desso Sports Systems recommends to play with trainers.
The installation of the carpet itself takes, depending on the weather conditions, about 3 to 6 weeks. In case the installation of a sub base is required, another 4-8 weeks are needed.
Maintenance of artificial grass pitches is still required but is minimal compared to the maintenance of natural grass pitches. Mostly brushing and keeping dirt (leafs, soil, etc.) off are needed.
No, sprinkling is only advised in hot and dry weather conditions.
